MY BREAK-UP PLAYLIST AND LYRICS

Love, may it be a past love, future love, present love, whatever love it is, I’d like to recognize love as one feeling. It may give permanent and temporary happiness but love is love and with that, I’d like to use this moment to use love as it makes a poet out of me. However, by love, I mean a former love.

Yes, I have broken up with my ex-boyfriend (redundant?) and I never actually acknowledged the feeling until now. How good it is to be busy, eh? So I have taken a time off from my paper works and decided to share my break-up playlist to everyone. I know this may remind you of Piolo and Sarah’s movie; the truth is I am going to write the blog with the film in my mind and my experiences in my heart.

Before you further scroll, I would like to encourage you to visit and play the playlist I made for this blog at: (please click or copy and paste to your browser)

So here we go…

1.FUCK YOU by Lily Allen

Your point of view is medieval

Fuck you
Fuck you very, very much

This is my blog and I’m just being honest here. Who would end a relationship without hatred?

So with that… Yes I am mad, so f you. (Insert bad finger emoji here)

2. IT’S SO HARD TO SAY GOODBYE TO YESTERDAY by Jason Mraz

How do I say good bye to what we had,
The good times that made us laugh outweigh the bad
I thought we’d get to see forever but forever’s gone away

Who would have thought that our 31st monthsary was the day we had parted ways? Unfortunately with break up, the bad times always outweigh the good times. It takes one unfortunate event to make two people become strangers again.

Smh, that’s the sad truth. Yes, I said, “sad”.

3. TWO WEEKS LATE by Ashley Monroe

So the man is gone
What a damn cliche’

To be honest, broken heart is a cliché for me. I’ve had enough share of heart breaks; they may have felt bitter; I may have cried a river, but there’s no such thing as easy heartbreak. It will always be a long process.

4. GOODBYE TO YOU by Michelle Branch

Of all the things I’ve believed in
I just want to get it over with
Tears form behind my eyes
But I do not cry
Counting the days that pass me by

I want you
But I’m not giving in this time

So I guess, the only thing that’s left is to part ways with a goodbye. That’s like the end statement for “hello” that apparently was exchanged years ago.

5. IN THE END by Linkin Park

Remembering all the times you fought with me
I’m surprised it got so (far)
Things aren’t the way they were before
You wouldn’t even recognize me anymore
Not that you knew me back then
But it all comes back to me
In the end

Breaking-up is about wanting him but decided not to give in, thus causing for two people just to let go because they just chose to love themselves better than their old partner, which is commendable.

6. THE WHISPHERER by David Guetta, Sia

By design God gave me feelings
And by design they shall not kill
But when the noises overwhelm me
I feel sure that they will

I will not lie, the noises I’m trying not to hear is demanding for some recognition. All I can do is acknowledge it, for all I know pain is inevitable.

7. LOVE HURTS by The Everly Brothers

I’m young, I know, but even so
I know a thing or two
And I learned from you
I really learned a lot, really learned a lot
Love is like a flame
It burns you when it’s hot
Love hurts……ooh, ooh love hurts

Yes, it is painful and I’m so mad.

That must have been the point when love is not giving joy any longer. In spite everything, I will forever treasure each laughter, tears, pictures, letters and everything I have received from my old love. That does not mean, though, I can go back to the past.

8. I WILL SURVIVE by Gloria Gaynor

Go on now go walk out the door
Just turn around now
‘Cause you’re not welcome anymore
Weren’t you the one who tried to hurt me with goodbye
Did you think I’d crumble
Did you think I’d lay down and die
Oh no, not I
I will survive
Oh as long as I know how to love
I know I’ll stay alive
I’ve got all my life to live
I’ve got all my love to give
And I’ll survive

So it might be hard to adapt at first, but I’m human, and I can adapt to changes. I won’t crumble; I won’t cry because I’ve got all my life to live. I have survived different types of pain; I will survive this break-up.

9. SHE HATES ME by Puddle of Mudd

She fucking hates me
trust
she fucking hates me
la la la love
I tried too hard
and she tore my feelings like I had none
and ripped them away

As this blog slowly comes to an end, I may remind you how much I hate you.

I hate you for giving up, I hate you for not being man enough to stand up for me, I hate you in any words I could ever use, I hate you for neglecting someone who has given me to you, but I also hate myself for a reason I can’t ponder.

10. I TRY by Macy Gray

I try to say goodbye and I choke
I try to walk away and I stumble
Though I try to hide it, it’s clear
My world crumbles when you are not near
Goodbye and I choke
I try to walk away and I stumble
Though I try to hide it, it’s clear
My world crumbles when you are not near

I won’t deny that the lyrics are speaking to me, on the other hand, I will always try because it is okay not to be okay. At least, I’m trying to move forward, so you should too.

Goodbye.
