A letter to be sent to heaven

“You have made life no longer than the width of our hand. Our entire lifetime is just a moment to you; at best, each of us is but a breath.” (NLT) ( Psalm 39:5 )

You who I have grown to be my favourite of all the five siblings my mom has. You used to be an inspiration of something I wish I could be; with soft hands you have that a single touch from you could turn into masterpiece. A cool loving mother to her kids, I wish my mom could be just like. A career woman who is definitely all women should be all like. The first woman in our family who got a license may it be in the Philippines or Canada. You are truly a symbolism of what feminism is.

You were closest to my mom, that’s why I was closest to you. I used to ride in your car than riding in our own whenever we have family vacations. Sleeping with you along with your daughters during the weekend was the only thing I look forward to when I was a kid. How could I ever forget the modelling break you gave me when you opened your own clothing line before you came to Canada. You maybe my auntie but you were like my second mother, you were an inspiration to me and to your daughters… that doesn’t change even when I became a grown up lady.

You who fearlessly seek God while trying to live you life to fullest, I know the past years have been so hard for you but I’m happy that you have done all the things you want in your life. You’ve become a fighter, painter, designer, businesswoman, sister, daughter, wife and mother. You maybe gone now but you have left the most adorable kid in the world. You may turn every art into masterpiece but your son turns everything he touches into the an epitome of happiness. Your two daughters are following your steps and I’m sure they’ll have the bright future you wish for them to have. I know you’re not perfect and how vulnerable you can be, but you seek God from the start to the end that’s why I know that you’re with Him now.

The time as an adult that I was able to spend with you was only short but I’m glad that I was able to be a helping hand when you’re down. I know those are nothing compared to what you did for me, but I’m just thankful that I was able to share laugh, stories and time with you before you go to heaven. We love you, I love you and I’m so proud of you tita! 🙂

  1. What a beautiful testimony to your Aunt…..and what a strong influence it is obvious she has left on you and the rest of your family. Thank you for sharing. God Bless You and Yours.
